How do you know if your baby is teething?

First of all, the teeth maybe showing, coming out from the gums, you will notice also the gums can be swollen.I noticed also that Kyle was rubbing his face intensely, this is also a tell-tale sign of a teething baby.Thirdly if you notice that your child wants to bite everything, yes ,he is definitely teething.

In some instances teething babies will drool a lot, are a bit cranky and have trouble sleeping.Just as they go through a growth spurt your baby will be going through a new milestone in his life.As much as it is painful for your little one you need to understand and help your little one be more comfortable.

Not all kids will have all these symptoms some will have one symptom or a number of symptoms from the list above. So what do you do when you have a teething baby?

How do you soothe a teething baby?

The thing that has brought a bit of relief for my little tot is giving him a teething ring. For those water based teething rings it is ideal to place them in the fridge to allow them to be a bit cool for baby's swollen gums. This will help with the inflammation and help with the discomfort.

The second thing will be offering your baby chilled foods such as yoghurt and chilled fruits. If the baby has started on solids you can give your baby some teething biscuits to just keep him nibbling on something.

Lastly give baby some milk, you may want to break off the 3 hour feeding time routine or the night time weaning and just feed the baby as he will not be feeling well. This will help boost his immune system and milk is a sleeping enhancer so its a win-win.

Once the teeth are out your little one is back to his usual self and routine and you can rest up and repeat the process when his other teeth come out.
